Lavandula angustifolia. If you love lavender, you must try this English variety! Very compact, attractive plants are slow growing to 18". Lots of flower spikes with very dark purple, fragrant flowers that attract butterflies and bees. Add the edible flowers to a simple syrup to make craft cocktails/mocktails or lavender lemonade. Bake into bread, cookies, or scones, and flavor jellies. Excellent for making sachets, wreaths, and dried flower arrangements; makes a wonderful short hedge, container or rock garden plant.[1]

- Additional instructions: ¼"–½" dark purple flowers clustered on spikes. Blooms late spring to summer and attracts pollinators, is good for a cut flower. Is also deer resistant and drought tolerant.[1]
- After seedlings are well established, plant them out in a sunny spot with excellent drainage and good air circulation or in big, well-drained pots.
- If given excellent drainage and good air circulation, Spanish lavender is perennial in areas where winter temperatures stay above 50°F. Plants flower lightly the first season and come into full bloom in their second summer. After blooming season, prune and shape the plants while cutting off spent flower stalks
